The 2005 exhibits a pale lemon gold color and is defined by an explosion of ripe citrus and floral tones with an oily texture and dense weight that is balanced by incredibly structured acidity. With its incredibly long and silky finish, you will enjoy this bottle through its last drop.

2005 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

Over the past five vintages of our Dry Creek Zinfandel not much has changed. And this is a good thing. Each year the vineyard produces stellar fruit and each year I follow the path that has made it one of our most popular wines. Like the 2002 & 2003 vintages that put us on the map, 2005 was harvested a full week earlier than normal. It may not sound like much but what it meant was the fruit wanted off the vine early, concentrating flavors over a shorter period of time and creating those one of a kind fruit forward characteristics found in earlier vintages.

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley

The 2005 vintage continues our wonderful blend of Oakville, Mt. Veeder and Pritchard Hill fruit. This year however marks a milestone for our Cabernet Sauvignon as it’s the first vintage to not be 100% Cabernet. For the past few years we’ve been waiting on a small section of the Mt. Veeder vineyard planted to Cabernet Franc and 2005 introduces it to the blend.

2005 Waugh Cellars Pinot Noir, Indindoli Vineyard, Russian River

Although I now have a son of my own, this vineyard was a child of sorts as I saw it planted and watched it grow long before it ever bore fruit. Originally planted to two different Pinot grape clones the vineyard has truly come into it’s own and I’m so proud of this first vintage.
