2006 Waugh Cellars Pinot Noir, Indindoli Vineyard, Russian River
Given the success of the 2005 Pinot very little was changed in the winemaking for this new vintage. The fruit from Carmine Indindoli’s carefully maintained vineyard was brought in and cold soaked for four days before fermentation to maximize flavors and color extraction. It was then placed in 10% New Oak barrels from Centre of France where it stayed for a full year.
Freshly picked raspberries dominate the nose, followed by notes of spicy cinnamon, chocolate and flora as the wine opens up in the glass.
This wine is luscious and smooth, the soft fruit balancing the unmistakable structure of classic Russian River Pinot Noir. Enjoy now or over the next 5-7 years.
