2005 Waugh Cellars Pinot Noir, Indindoli Vineyard, Russian River

Although I now have a son of my own, this vineyard was a child of sorts as I saw it planted and watched it grow long before it ever bore fruit.  Originally planted to two different Pinot grape clones the vineyard has truly come into it’s own and I’m so proud of this first vintage.

The fruit was brought in and cold soaked for four days before fermentation to maximize flavors and color extraction.  It was then placed in 10% New Oak barrels from Centre of France where it stayed for a full year.

The resulting wine shows itself to be a true example of Russian River fruit but with an early finesse that will be unlike anything you’ve ever tasted.  Its seductive ruby red color leads to bursting red raspberries and strawberries on the nose.  The fruit is explosive on the palette and ends with a long finish.
